Do you ever just want to get inky and play? I had this idea for a poppy card, and wanted to create a different background for it. I absolutely love Painted Poppies, but haven’t used it in quite a while. I think this set means so much because of my family’s military history. There have been quite a few people who have served on both sides of my family.
I chose to use Real Red and Flirty Flamingo reinkers on this one. Used on watercolour paper, with lots of water, the colour flows and the more water you add, the more it moves around the sheet. You can let it air dry, or, if you use a heat tool, the air moves the ink and water around, for just a little more interest.
A little bit of ink goes a very long way. For this technique, I just dabbed the water painter on the top of the reinker to pick up a bit of colour, and then painted it onto the paper. If you don’t like what you see, you can add more water, dab it off with a paper towel, or add more (or a different) colour on top. Wink of Stella can be put on top for even more interest.
