Gift card holders always seem to be a hot commodity around the holidays. This one is a standard size to fit in the Stampin’ Up! medium envelopes, with a finished size of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
The stamp set, paired with the Layering Designs vellum papers makes for a cute Santa themed card. This one was coloured with Stampin’ Blends, but you can use whatever your favourite medium is.
For this card, you will need a piece of cardstock for the base, cut at 5 1/2″ x 11 1/2″. Score it at 4 1/4″, 5 1/2″, and 6 3/4″. Mark the centre slit 1″ from each end, and cut along the score line to create an opening for the gift card.
Burnish the score lines to create a W, so the two smaller pieces touch each other. Run tape along the inside of one of the pieces and along the bottom to create the gift card holder.
Cut your vellum to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and place adhesive on the centre of it (will be hidden by the Santa panel). Stamp and colour the Santa image, trim as desired, then run a little bit of adhesive on the back and weave the ribbon behind the image. Place dimensionals on each corner and attach to the front.
Cut a piece of Basic white to the same size as the vellum, and layer onto the inside of the card, stamping as desired.
Putting together this gift card holder is fairly quick, and you could easily create several for any occasion in one crafting session.
This could be adapted to get two 4 1/4 x 4 1/2″ cards with the 1″ center pop-up out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock.
