I usually troll the internet for ideas, as I am pretty sure that most cardmakers do. The inspiration for this card came from a cardmaking magazing page, and I loved how it gave a little pop of colour and pattern on the inside of the card. The possibilities are endless with this one- use a die or punch of any shape to attach to the front to help prop it up. And, as always, changing the stamp, ink, and paper gives a myriad of possibilities.
Azure afternoon is the card base. I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Azure afternoon, and sliced a piece off the long edge that was 1 3/4″ long. You’ll also need:
Basic Black cardstock for die cutting
Patterned paper- 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″, and 5 1/4″ x 2 1/4″
Basic White scrap for punching.
I know in the video I said no stamping, but a little something was needed, and this little bird from the Country Birdhouse stamp set from the upcoming 2024-25 annual catalogue fit the bill perfectly.
Start by burnishing the score line. Adhere the paper to the card- the larger piece on the outside, and the smaller on the inside. Run the Wanted to Say dies through your Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss machine using either the adhesive sheets or Tear & Tape on the back of the cardstock to make sticking it to the background die easier.
Adhere the die cut pieces together. Punch or die cut a tag (I used the 2 3/8″ circle punch) and stamp as desired. Colour using Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write markers. Attach the punched or die cut piece to the card front with the bottom parallel to the bottom edge of the card so that it stands when propped up. Attach the die cut pieces with dimensionals as desired, and bling it up with rhinestones. If you’re in Canada, and would like to shop with me, pop over to my Stampin’ Up! website.
