It’s the first Friday in April, which means it’s time for a free online class!
This month, I used the soon-to-be-retired Rain or Shine designer series paper (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! for this easy fun fold card.
This card gives you a peek at the inside, which can be decorated, or stamped with a sentiment like I did, using the Happier than Happy stamp set. Classic Matte Dots give it a nice finishing touch.
I used different elements of the designer series paper, as well as a strip of Nature Prints paper to copy the feeling of the rain. The bunny and flowers were fussy cut and adhered to the card.
Cutting the cardstock is quite straightforward. Score a 4 1/2 x 11″ piece of cardstock in your choice of colour (I used Balmy Blue), and score at 5 1/2″. Make a cut at 7 1/2″, and then cut that piece at 2″, giving you one 2″ piece and one that is 1 1/2″.
Adhere the DSP to the strips as shown. Place the 1 1/2″ strip of cardstock across the bottom of the card base, and apply a little bit of adhesive to the 2″ piece at the bottom and top. Line up the 1 1/2″ piece square, and place the 2″ piece vertically, slightly in from the left. Attach the 2″ strip to the top of the card and press to ensure it is attached firmly. Check out the YouTube live video for step-by-step visuals for the card.
